Present donations slow for Angel Tree program

KALISPELL, Mont. - Christmas is only three weeks away, but Salvation Army workers in Kalispell tell us they still have hundreds of kids signed up for their Angel Tree program, but not enough presents to give them.

The main tree is set up the the Kalispell Center Mall. Tags on the tree represent children who need gifts, but so far gift givers who've signed up are in short supply.

Major Mary Svenson says she thinks it might have something to do with weather.

"I just have this feeling that when snow comes, we all get in the mood for christmas, and when we don't have any snow and we have rain, it's not normal for us, so we're a little behind the ball I think."
