MISSOULA, Mont. - After nine months in Afghanistan, 69 members of the Montana National Guard are on their way home.
We're told they've returned to the states and are now at Fort Hood, Texas, where they're going through the demobilizing process.
The unit will return to Montana in two days.
We talked to the father of one of those soldiers, UM student Jessica Baldwin.
"It's always tough when a child goes overseas, especially in a situation like that," said Baldwin. "They miss out on a lot of the important family events that happen, so we're just looking forward to having her back."
The unit will fly into Glacier International Airport in Kalispell, where they're based, on Saturday, September 21st at 1 p.m.
