Kalispell resident spreads cheer by giving back

KALISPELL, Mont. - During the holidays most families decorate their home for the fun of it but one Kalispell resident lit up his home for a good cause.

Inspired by YouTube videos showing houses covered with lights, blinking and dancing to tunes, Adam Birks strung 15,000 lights across his home and linked them to several holiday songs.

He's also placed a donation box on the curb. Birks said his goal is to raise $1,000 for Kalispell Regional Healthcare's pediatric fund.

"Last year we started getting people who would come by and just comment on how much they liked it," said Birks, "and I thought wow maybe we should start donating for a cause or something."
"I hear he's shared some pretty ambitious goals and good for him," explained Foundation president Tagen Vine. "I think it's neat what he's doing and that he's tied a passion of his to this project."
