Kalispell Fire Department receives pet oxygen masks

KALISPELL, Mont. - Kalispell firefighters have a new piece of equipment to help out our furry friends during a fire rescue. Folks from Flathead Shelter Friends presented Kalispell Fire Department with three pet oxygen masks designed to go over the mouths of dogs, cats, birds, and more.

The Shelter Friends hope to eventually purchase and donate masks to all of the fire departments in the Flathead Valley.

"We do want to protect people's proerty and minimize loss during an incident," said Assistant Chief Jon Campbell. "Being able to provide lifesaving care to pets is invaluable for people who suffer a fire."
