Kalispell business helps local veterans

KALISPELL, Mont. - The Northwest Montana Stand Down and Food Pantry teamed up with a Kalispell business to help out Flathead veterans in need.

Moore Hearing held a Veterans Supply Drive to help gather any household goods or food for the pantry.

The pantry goes through about 90,000 pounds of food every year, making even the smallest of donations critical to the number of veterans the pantry can help out.

Dr. Stacia Moore's husband is a navy veteran.

She understands that these veterans can fall on hard times.

"Sometimes, especially a lot of our Vietnam veterans they don't know about the services available and they often kind of fall through the cracks," Moore said.  "There is a high population of homeless Vietnam veterans especially so we're just trying to help them out."
