WHITEFISH, Mont. - Whitefish Mountain Resort has been packed this holiday season.
With Christmas landing in the middle of the week this year, that meant there were three weekends in the holiday season which isn't the case every year. The longer holiday made this year a record year in numbers.
Whitefish Mountain told NBC Montana that one record day was December 30, with 7,654 people out on the mountain. Whitefish Public Relations Manager Riley Polumbus explains some of the busiest days they tallied up out on the mountain.
"We had a 6-day period where we had 6,000 people or more on the slopes, which is a pretty big deal. We also had 3 days where we had over 7,000 people on the slopes," says Polumbus.
Polumbus is optimistic for a good rest of the season out on the slopes, and is hoping that the snow keeps coming.
