Former pharmacist pleads guilty to drug theft

KALISPELL, Mont. - A former pharmacist from Columbia Falls has pleaded guilty to stealing prescription medication from a drugstore in Whitefish, where she worked.

Reports say 36-year-old Linda Williams pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
Court records indicate managers at the Walgreens discovered in February 2012 that nearly $800 worth of hydrocodone, alprazolam and amphetamines were missing. Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain medication; alprazolam is a sedative and muscle relaxant while amphetamines are a stimulant.
Williams acknowledged being addicted to the drugs and agreed to pay restitution.
Sentencing is set for March 7.
