Flathead store clerks cited for alcohol violations

KALISPELL, Mont. - In late November, local Flathead officers with the Alcohol Enforcement Team performed compliance checks at 20 businesses in the Kalispell area. Four of those businesses allegedly violated alcohol laws.

Clerks at Michael's West, Brian's Conoco, Four Corner's Town Pump and Woodland Quick Stop allegedly sold alcohol to underage kids working with the task force. The kids went into the stores with their real id's.

Kalispell Police Officer Jason Parce says clerks are apparently not picking up on visual elements in id's that signify an underage person. Clerks at the stores were cited for unlawful transactions with a minor.
