Crews investigate head-on Flathead collision


KALISPELL, Mont. - Emergency responders are still on-scene at the site of a head-on collision on the US 93 Alternate in the Kalispell area. Kalispell Fire Department staff tell NBC Montana the crash occurred just south of Kalispell, at the intersection with the Ashley Creek Bridge.

Trooper Hawkins of the Montana Highway Patrol said a Subaru heading westbound collided head on with a pickup truck traveling east. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals. The drive of the Subaru is listed in critical condition and will be air-lifted to Seattle. The driver of the truck is in stable condition.

MHP tells NBC Montana the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
