WOLF POINT, Mont. - A suspect by the name of John Lieba was taken into custody but the search for missing 4-year-old Maci Lilley is ongoing.
The little girl was reported missing at 9:30 p.m. Friday in Wolf Point on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in northeast Montana.
She is Native American and is described as about 3 feet tall and 60 pounds with short, dark hair. She was last seen wearing a pink coat, blue jeans, and pink and white shoes.
The Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office says witnesses reported a man took the child from a park where she had been playing.
The FBI is leading the investigation. Other local and federal law enforcement agencies are participating in the search.
Roosevelt County spokesman Lee Allmer says initially, authorities did not want a lot of people involved in the investigation and search because they feared the suspect was going to harm Lilley. Authorities went door to door looking for Lieba before finding him in a vehicle.
If you have any information that can help locate Maci Lilley, please call 911 or the Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office at (406) 653-6240.
