No citation for woman injured in captive deer attack

MISSOULA, Mont. - Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials say there will be no citation issued to the Florence woman injured in a captive deer attack Tuesday.

FWP officials said the woman was holding a fully grown whitetail buck captive in a pen. When she entered the pen Tuesday morning, the buck attacked her, sending her to a hospital in Missoula with injuries.

Veterinarians euthanized the deer and sent the carcass to the state crime lab for examination.

Officials couldn't comment on the woman's condition.

Montana prohibits holding any live game animal captive.
