Idaho carjacking suspect escapes arrest in Montana
BIG HORN COUNTY
A search continues in southern Montana for a man wanted for a carjacking last week in southwestern Idaho.
Nampa Police Sgt. Joe Ramirez says 36-year-old Rodney Seiber of Nampa jumped out of a second-story window of a motel in Hardin, Mont., on Monday morning and fled from deputies who were investigating a trespassing complaint.
Big Horn County deputies searched for him until dark Monday. Undersheriff Michael Fuss says the search resumed Tuesday morning.
Ramirez said Seiber's girlfriend, 18-year-old Brittany Robbins of Caldwell, was arrested on trespassing and obstructing charges.
Seiber is suspected of stealing a van from a welding supply company in Nampa last Wednesday after threatening an employee. He has several previous felony convictions.
Seiber has brown hair and blue eyes and tattoos on his neck reading "Jessica," ''Shyanne," and "Seiber" along with a scorpion.
