High winds leave thousands in Flathead-area without power

High winds are wreaking havoc across the Flathead Valley and beyond.

According to Flathead Electric’s real-time outage viewer 3,061 of their customers were without power as of 3:30 p.m. That figure includes outages in Lincoln County.

As of 5:00 p.m. power was restored to all but roughly 300 customers. 

Areas most affected include a large area east of Kalispell, as well as an area along Highway 83 on the east side of Flathead Lake.

Nearly 1,400 folks were left in the dark in Bigfork this afternoon - power was restored at around 4:00 p.m.
