HELENA, Mont. -

A U.S. Senate panel will hold hearings on the nominations of two Montana judges to the federal bench.
The Senate Judiciary Committee will consider the nominations of state District Judge Susan Watters and Montana Supreme Court Judge Brian Morris on July 24.
A search committee named by Senate Judiciary Committee recommended the two jurists to replace U.S. District judges Sam Haddon and Richard Cebull.
President Barack Obama nominated them in May.
If Watters and Morris clear the judiciary committee, they still must be confirmed by the full Senate.
Cebull retired May 3 amid a misconduct investigation into an email he forwarded that included a joke about bestiality and Obama's mother.
Haddon took senior status in December.
