HAVRE, Mont. -

The Montana Human Rights Bureau will hear a sexual-harassment complaint filed by a Montana State University-Northern dean against the school's former provost.

Randy Bachmeier, dean of extended studies, says former provost Rosalyn Templeton inappropriately touched his leg, arm, shoulder and back several times over three years, an allegation Templeton denies.

A human rights bureau investigator found university officials passed over Bachmeier for Templeton's job after she resigned.

The investigator found sufficient evidence to proceed with the complaint, and a hearing will be held at the Havre campus beginning Monday.

The newspaper received documents in the case through a public-records request.

The Montana Board of Regents is representing Northern. Spokesman Kevin McRae says the university conducted its own investigation and found no wrongdoing.
