State wildlife officials are looking for information about the shooting of a collared grizzly bear near U.S. Highway 83 east of Bigfork that led to the bear being put down.
Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials say that during a May 4 monitoring flight, grizzly bear management specialist Tim Manley spotted the male grizzly bear dragging its hind quarters. He euthanized the bear.
Game Warden Chuck Bartos investigated and a necropsy determined the bear had been shot.
FWP asks anyone with information about the shooting to call Bartos at 406-253-2934 or 1-800-TIP-MONT.  Callers can remain anonymous and a reward may be available.
