University of Montana Griz fans were excited to learn that former Griz linebacker Jordan Tripp was drafted in the 5th round by the Miami Dolphins. Tripp is a third generation Griz football player, and as a Griz linebacker, finished fourth all time in tackles, and first in fumble recoveries.
Tripp competed in the NFL Combine in February, and performed well.
NBC Montana stopped by the Press Box Sports bar in Missoula on Saturday to get fan reaction to Tripp’s draft.
“I think it’s great. Any time a Griz fan can turn pro and do it, I think it’s wonderful,” said Griz fan Jerry Michels.
“I’ll tell you what, it’s great. We’ve watched him the last few years. We’ve come down to the games. He’s a hard worker. Good for him,” said Griz fan Steve Larson.
Tripp isn’t the first Griz to be drafted by the Dolphins. Back in 2011, Miami picked UM defensive back Jimmy Wilson.
