A Great Falls teen who pleaded guilty to raping an 11-year-old girl last year has been sentenced to 65 years in prison.
District Judge Greg Pinski sentenced 16-year-old Kaleb Kuebler on Wednesday after hearing from several witnesses, including the victim and Kuebler's grandmother.
The girl testified that she felt like she was going to die during the attack and that she wanted Kuebler to go away for a long time.
Kuebler's grandmother, Sandra Kuebler-Riggs, called Kuebler's now-deceased mother cruel and said she inflicted physical and emotional abuse on the boy. Kuebler lived with his mom until he was 10.
Kuebler told the judge he knew what he did was wrong and that his suicide attempt before his first plea hearing in September was an attempt to make up for what he did.
