Friends, family can track marathon runners with timing app
The setup for race day started in Caras Park Friday, including the race results tent.
Competitive Timing is the company in charge of tracking racers for the second year in a row. This year friends and family can track runners, too, with text message alerts and mobile apps.
“All of those tools give them a means to keep track of themselves or their friends and family. So you don't have to be a race participant to utilize any of those tools,” said Competitive Timing’s Matthew Smeltzer.
