HELENA, Mont. -

A freight train has derailed outside Helena, scattering 13 empty cars down an embankment.
The Independent Record reports the derailment happened early Tuesday when the eastbound train was on a curve in the line 13 miles west of Helena.
Nobody was injured.
Besides the 13 empty cars that derailed, another 12 cars parked on a side track containing a corrosive material called Piperidine were damaged when the passing cars struck them.
Montana Rail Link spokeswoman Linda Frost says those cars are intact and no material was released from them.
Frost says the cause of the derailment is under investigation.
All train traffic through Helena has been halted.
