A Fort Benton woman who told deputies she had a psychotic break is charged with attempted deliberate homicide after her mother was stabbed.
31-year-old Lindsay Tope was arrested at a Great Falls hospital and made an initial appearance in District Court on Wednesday. Her bail was set at $250,000.
The stabbing was reported at 11 p.m. Monday.
Charging documents say Tope told responding deputies that she was having a psychotic break and stabbed her mother.
Prosecutors say Linda Tope of Carter underwent surgery for serious wounds to the front of her neck and her back.
Two witnesses heard arguments in the apartment, but they couldn't tell if the mother and daughter were arguing. They told investigators Lindsay commonly argues with herself in several different voices.
