MISSOULA, Mont. -

A former Walmart employee faces a felony embezzlement charge after allegedly stealing money from a cash register.

Prosecutors say between October 30 and November 30 Lucas Lee Kibler, 21, stole more than $3,100 from cash registers. Police say Kibler admitted to taking the money and told investigators he would complete a transaction with a customer and then take cash from the register in increments of $50 or $100 while the register was open.

Missoula County Justice Court Judge Karen Orzech agreed to release Kibler on his own recognizance but told him he can’t work in any job where he’d have to handle cash.

“So you understand if you get a job it would not be as a cashier or at a quick stop or anything like that,” Orzech said. “You wouldn't be handling any of that kind of cash.”

In addition Kibler isn’t allowed at either Missoula Walmart.
