An upper level low will move across the Intermountain West today.  A few sprinkles and showers will move through this morning.  Missoula will see the best chance of a thunderstorm from 12 to 3pm, just a chance during the evening hours. Kalispell will see the more widespread coverage of showers. with a few weak rumbles of thunder and the possibility of moderate rainfall for the late afternoon and evening hours.  Southwest Montana will see a few sprinkles and showers early. Several hours of sunshine will be all the fuel we need for a few thunderstorms this afternoon.  Outside of the rain, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the 80s. 

As the storm moves through northwest Montana late Friday and early Saturday, widespread rain is expected across northwest, with the heaviest from Kalispell north to the border and east into Glacier Park.  This area may receive one to two inches of rain. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler with highs in the 70s across northwest Montana with low to mid 80s elsewhere. This cool down will be short, highs will be back to the 80s to around 90 next week.
