HELENA, Mont. -

A Helena fire official says tests of a package sent by an anonymous sender to Gov. Steve Bullock's office came up negative for illicit substances.

Authorities evacuated the state Capitol Wednesday after governor's office reported the package containing cloth wrapped in tape.

State employees were sent home for the day.

Fred Stout of the Helena Fire Department said Thursday the package has been screened and the matter turned back over to Capitol officials.

The governor was not in the building when the package arrived and the Legislature is not in session.
