MISSOULA, Mont. -

Fire crews were quick to put out a barn fire on Mockingbird Lane in the Upper Miller Creek area of Missoula.

The homeowner, Assistant Police Chief Scott Hoffman, said he was burning a slash pile when his barn and nearby trailer caught on fire.

Crews were able to put the flames out within 10 minutes of arriving on scene.

The Hoffmans lost a barn, outdoor furniture, a boat and a camp trailer. But Mary Hoffman said she was happy their home was OK.

"Everyone's OK, my husband's not hurt, our our home is still fine...so it's all good," Hoffman said.

Crews were on the scene late in the day Thursday, cleaning things up. The investigation is ongoing.
