CHEYENNE, Wyo. -

A Canadian man faces a federal charge of transporting a stolen pickup truck after his arrest in Yellowstone National Park.

A criminal complaint filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Cheyenne charges Paul D. Cowie drove a pickup truck through Yellowstone's northern entrance near Gardiner, Montana, without paying on June 1.

According to a criminal complaint, Yellowstone rangers determined that the truck had been reported stolen recently from Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The complaint states Cowie holds a driver's license issued in Manitoba.

The complaint states Cowie told investigators he had taken the pickup truck without permission from a maintenance yard at Banff and drove it to Yellowstone.

Cowie hasn't filed a response to the charge and faces a preliminary hearing Monday in Mammoth Hot Springs.
