The FBI is asking for the public's help in locating a violent fugitive who was recently seen in the San Francisco Bay area and may be headed to Mexico.
The FBI says a reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest of 28-year-old Kevin Briggs, who escaped from police in Montana last week.
Briggs is a felon and registered sex offender who is accused of assaults against a woman and a police officer.
Investigators say he was seen last week in San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland. He may currently be in Southern California. He reportedly told an acquaintance he planned to travel to Mexico.
The FBI says Briggs may be staying in homeless shelters while earning money to travel, and should be considered armed and dangerous and suicidal. Briggs also has violent tendencies.
Briggs is described to be a white male, 5’5” to 5’7” and 120 to 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a sunburst tattoo around his right nipple, a tattoo in his armpit and a tattoo on his lower lip. He has a double "snake bite" piercing on his bottom lip. He also has a bellybutton piercing and pierced ears. Briggs was last wearing gray sweatpants, a dark-colored hooded jacket or parka, black shoes and a dark baseball cap.
