Dear Community Team Members,
Firstly, I would like to extend my gratitude to our Community staff, who have been very patient during these joint venture negotiations.
After a year of exploring the very complex issue before the board, the Community Medical Center Board of has voted to partner with with the Billings Clinic and Regional Care Hospital Partners of Brentwood Tennessee.
As a member of a new joint venture wholly owned by the Billings Clinic and Regional Care, Community intends to partner with providers that have the strength and experience needed to assist us in accomplishing our objectives which include:
· Lowering the cost of care to our patients.
· Continuing the development of centers of excellence and fostering the development of specialty services.
· Attracting and retaining a high quality medical staff.
· Increasing service levels in existing programs.
· Positioning Community to offer new models of care.
· Making necessary capital investments in new technology.
· Continuing to improve balance sheet financial strength.
While it was a difficult decision, the board strongly believes that entering into a joint venture with another regional community hospital will provide western Montana with the greatest opportunity to continue the historical mission of Community Medical Center.
Input from our community, medical providers and employees at Community all played a key role in the board's decision. Missoula's commitment to Community, our mission, employees and the patients we serve was recognized as a core strength of our institution.
Ultimately, we believe that partnering with an independent organization preserves for the community the greatest opportunity for choice and health care options in the future. While we make choice for health care in our community a priority, we look forward to continuing the strong collaborative relationships with all local health care providers.
A new joint venture will surely bring about changes and we know our team will have questions. We will do our best to be available to our leaders and staff and navigate our way as we solidify this new relationship.
