Death of man found in mountains ruled accidental
BUTTE-SILVER BOW COUNTY
Butte-Silver Bow County officials say a man whose decomposed body was found in the mountains east of Butte last week died of a skull fracture consistent with a fall.
Capt. George Skuletich tells the Montana Standard (http://bit.ly/Z6Zwsr) that a medical examiner in Missoula determined Robert E. Lee suffered a fracture at the rear of his skull and the death has been ruled accidental.
Skuletich says Lee apparently lived the last several years on the East Ridge in a hole he dug in the ground.
Don Heffington, a friend of Lee, says that Lee was a devout Buddhist and chose to live in the mountains to meditate.
Police have not been able to locate any of Lee's relatives, but plan to search the hole where he lived for personal items that might lead to family.
