KALISPELL, Mont. -

Multiple fire crews from West Valley, South Kalispell, and Evergreen responded to a structure fire around 5:45 P.M. tonight.

The house was already considered a total loss upon arrival, and crews worked to contain the fire the best they could.

West Valley Fire Chief Russ Sappington told us that the home was under construction, so there were no injuries or anyone inside the home at the time of the fire.

“We got on scene and took assessment and it had pretty much burned the garage completely down,” said Sappington.  “It was taking away the house from the east to the west.  It was a very hot fire.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Sappington wants to remind people to be cautious of where they leave flammable objects like paint during the hot summer months.
