MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Montana Supreme Court upheld the conviction of a Missoula man found guilty of rape.

In January 2012, a jury found Joshua Jeremy Peltier guilty of raping one Missoula woman and sexually assaulting another in 2010.

Missoula County District Court Judge John Larson handed down a 100 year prison sentence without the option of parole to the then 21-year-old.

Last month Peltier filed an appeal for the conviction, claiming the jury wasn't given adequate instructions.

Wednesday, the Montana Supreme Court ruled to uphold the conviction.
