BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Kellen Jack Berkram was born at 3:37 a.m., making him the first baby born at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital in 2014. Kellen came into this world weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 21.5 inches long.

Kristi and Cory Berkram unexpectedly rang in the new year at the hospital. They say Kellen was not due for another week or so.

This will be the first boy for the family. The Berkrams already have a 5-year-old named Greta, who we are told is looking forward to being a big sister.

The Berkrams tell NBC Montana they couldn't have asked for a better start to the new year.

"It was not your typical new year's party, but we had a lot of fun, we had a fun time, we had friends visit and it was a great New Year's Eve, and a great way to start the new year," said Kristi Berkram.
