BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Bozeman school officials tell us construction on the new eighth elementary school is coming along smoothly. They say they're set to open on time at the end of August.

Only 12 classrooms, the gym and the library will be open to students and staff. The rest of the school doesn't open until the end of October or first of November.

Officials tell us they're eager to finish because they need the space.

"When we do a projection, it's kind of our best guess at how many students will show up but we have more currently registered than even projected so, it's helpful to have the space for our students and our teachers. It's just an important piece of the educational environment," says Bozeman School Superintendent Rob Watson.

Watson tells us the mild winter helped to move along construction. Workers broke ground on the new school in August of last year.
