Bozeman police remind residents about fireworks rules
July 4th is just around the corner and many people in the area celebrate with fireworks.
Fireworks stands in Gallatin County are set to open in just a few days. We wanted to get the facts to make sure you know the rules and regulations in the city of Bozeman.
For people like Brett Cline of Ten Fingers Fireworks, this time of year means big business.
"Celebrating your independence with large aerial displays and things that go 'boom' is fun for everybody. We look forward to a bumper year, being able to sell lots of fireworks," said Cline.
However, within the city of Bozeman, people need to remember there are regulations, pages of them. They detail when, where, and how you can use fireworks.
We met with Officer Obadiah Rouse, who works for the Bozeman Police Department. He says as long as you are following the rules and not creating problems for people, you should be OK.
"Make sure you are not disturbing anyone else around you. If it gets too out of hand, that is where we end up getting involved. We don't want that on a holiday," said Rouse.
