Bozeman girl pleads no contest in trailer fire
One of three Bozeman girls charged after a trailer house burned last September has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor criminal mischief by accountability.
Attorney Chuck Watson says his client had talked about setting fire to the trailer, but didn't know anything about it actually being done. The girl said she felt being on probation would help her stay out of trouble. Sentencing is set for June 3.
Three 14-year-old girls were initially charged with felony arson for a Sept. 20 fire that destroyed an unoccupied trailer house in Bozeman.
One girl pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal mischief last week while another case is still pending.
Investigators say the girls lighted candles and poured gasoline on a mattress or couch before setting it on fire.
