BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Folks with the MSU bookstore say gold is always the theme of the first Bobcats football game.

Universal is the official sponsor of the gold rush t-shirts, but the bookstore had a gold shirt of their own. It's glow in the dark and I'm told it flew off the shelves this week.

Managers say all the smalls were gone by Tuesday and when all that was left by mid-day Thursday were double and triple extra larges.

Merchandising manager Katie Erickson says she bought all she could- 2,000 shirts- and they'll all be gone by the end of day on Thursday.

She says they have other gold shirts to choose from and have sold a total of 4,000 gold items overall.

"This year has far exceeded our expectations. I don't know if it's the new logo or if it was the glow in the dark but business has been phenomenal for us," explains Erickson.

The bookstore will get more glow in the dark gold shirts but they won't be available, Thursday.

Erickson says they used estimates from last year to order this year's gold but she says you never get it exactly right.

She says she'll definitely try to order more next year.
