BILLINGS, Mont. -

A Billings man with six prior convictions for drunken driving was charged with felony DUI after a convenience store clerk refused to sell beer to an intoxicated man and called police while following him as he drove away.

48-year-old Fernando Lionel Beauchene was arrested at his house Wednesday after the clerk directed police to the residence and identified Beauchene as the man he followed from the store.

Beauchene refused to provide a breath sample. He remained jailed Friday with bail set at $35,000.

Court records say Beauchene has prior DUI convictions in Montana, Florida and Indiana and an outstanding arrest warrant for a DUI charge in California.
