BILLINGS, Mont. -

Police have arrested a Billings animal control officer after receiving reports that a man was waving a gun out of the window of a city-owned vehicle.

Billings Police Chief Rich St. John said in a statement that Chase Blaylock was detained Monday on suspicion of driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia.

St. John says Blaylock was off duty and did not have authorization to be in the animal-control vehicle.

Blaylock has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
