The National Commander of the American Legion visited Montana State University today. Dan Dellinger leads the 2.4 million member veteran organization.
The American Legion is involved in programs like the G.I. bill, which provides benefits for soldiers returning from war.
He visited with MSU students and ROTC leaders to learn about how the group's programs are being implemented at the school.
Dellinger told NBC Montana, "With the younger veterans, especially coming back from Iraq and Afganistan, we want to make sure that they have their needs taken care of. A lot of them have some issues coming back, and how they adjust into University life to make sure they're well received and that they get the education that they deserve."
The American Legion is the largest veterans service organization in the country.
