MISSOULA, Mont. -

Starting this fall, Missoula's special needs children will have a park to call their own.

The Playground Project, run by Jenny Montgomery, is raising funds for Montana's first All-Abilities playground. It will be wheelchair and walker accessible, with sensory play for children with autism.

The playground will span 30,000 square feet, with a junior version of Mount Sentinal and a climbing area.

McCormick Park will be home to the playground.

The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation contributed $35,000 and the city of Missoula donated the land and earmarked $50,000 for the project.

The total budget is $275,000.
