Temperatures this morning are in the 40s and 50s. Most areas are starting out with clear skies, but patchy fog is possible by sunrise. By the afternoon, a few showers and storms are possible as a weak storm system moves across the region. The best location for the development of showers and storms will mainly range from Missoula south to the Bitterroot and east to Butte and Bozeman.  Some of those could be strong, containing gusty winds, lightning and small hail.

A nice weekend is expected as summer arrives on Saturday.  Intervals of sunshine and clouds with just a slight chance of an afternoon isolated shower or storm.  The exception will be southwest Montana, where there is a good chance of afternoon showers and storms on Saturday. Highs in the 70s to lower 80s with lows in the 40s.

More of the same next week, with a daily chance of an isolated afternoon shower or storm.  The majority of the time will be dry with warm days and cool nights through late week.
