WHITEFISH, Mont. -

Whitefish Mountain Resort officials say nearly 323,000 skiers and snowboarders visited this season.

This is the highest number of visitors in the resort's 65 years and a 10 percent increase over last year.

The 2012-2013 ski season ended April 7.

University of Montana's Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research data shows it is the third time the mountain has surpassed 300,000 visitors.

Resort spokeswoman Riley Polumbus says Big Mountain did not receive as much snow as last year, but there was plenty of powder days early in the season.
