WHITEFISH, Mont. -

Runners were awake bright and early Saturday morning for the 35th annual Whitefish Lake Run.

Over 500 participants signed up for the 5K and 10K races that took place on the eastern shores of the lake. Families, friends, young and old started their day by warming up and stretching at City Beach before the gun went off at 8 AM.

One dedicated runner who drove up from Ronan tells us he travels far and wide to run in a race.

"It's just a fun, downhill run around a very scenic area of Montana. It's beautiful," said Paul Soukub, who has run in this race for 11 years. "It's just another run on another weekend, I don't make any special preferences, one or the other. I just love to run."
