Whitefish High School Principal Dave Carlson won’t be back next year. The Whitefish school board voted to accept a separation agreement. According to one board member, it was Carlson who initiated the agreement.

The school board had planned not to renew his contract back in May, but after a student sit-in and a large turnout at a public meeting, Whitefish’s school superintendent reversed her recommendation.

The district hasn’t said why they were planning on letting Carlson go. Calls to Carlson weren’t returned on Monday.
