Fire officials said heavy fuel and steep terrain is giving them some trouble on a fire in Lake County.
The West Garceau fire is burning on tribal land about five miles west of Polson.
Officials said it grew last night to over 9,000 acres, but crews did make some headway.
181 people and extra equipment are now based at a fire camp set up at the Polson fairgrounds.
Public Information Officer Jennifer Costich said they have fire lines around 20 percent of the blaze.
"The crews have been continuing to make great headway, holding the line that they constructed, as well as constructing new line,” said Costich. “We're very thankful that we're getting aerial support, and we're looking forward to another day tomorrow."
