BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Bozeman faces off in the quarterfinals of a nation-wide competition between ski towns- for the title of best place to hit the slopes and shred the powder.

Beginning Monday, Bozeman is up against Truckee for the third round of voting in the Ski Town Throwdown competition.

Powder Magazine picked 32 ski towns, and each week, voters have chosen their favorites.

So far, Bozeman's beat out Marquette and Santa Fe/Taos.

Whitefish was also in the running, but lost to Rossland and Nelson in the last round.
NBC Montana went to Bridger Bowl and asked skiers why they think Bozeman is the best.

"We get so much snow, and winter's like nine months out of the year" said skier Isabel Bowen. "It's like the best place to ski, and we get a lot of powder."

Her sister Emma agreed. "It's a really awesome ski area- we got some really great runs up here" she said, adding "there's something for everyone."

She said Bridger Bowl and Big Sky offer a wide variety for skiers and snowboarders- from great terrain parks, to back country skiing and runs for all levels.

"The terrain parks in both areas are awesome, so you're going to attract those park rats" said snowboarder Patrick Smith. "Even without the terrain park, the powder here is awesome."

Voting for Bozeman/Truckee opens on Monday, December 10th and continues until the 11th.
