MISSOULA, Mont. -

Sheriff’s deputies confirm the man killed in a wreck near Clinton over the weekend was 33-year old Daniel Martin from Missoula. The boy who died in the car was 8-year old Jacob Gamble from Seattle, Washington.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew Novak said Martin, who had been attending the Testicle Festival, stole a truck from Rock Creek Lodge. He drove it in the wrong direction down I-90, around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. About 10 miles west of the Clinton interchange, he crashed head-on into a family of four.

Martin was ejected from the truck, and killed.

Gamble was in the car Martin hit and was also killed on the scene. The 37-year-old driver of that car was flown to Seattle with serious injuries. His wife, a 29-year-old female and their 5-year-old boy are in stable condition at Saint Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

Trooper Novak says the crash is still under investigation, and while a toxicology report won’t be complete for some time, Troopers are confident the driver of the pickup was drunk.
