Officials with Revett Minerals Inc. say the Troy Mine in northwestern Montana could reopen this spring, after being closed since December due to a rock fall.
The Flathead Beacon reports (http://bit.ly/XnFuq5 ) miners have begun removing loose rock, pumping flooded areas and solidifying mine walls, but a haulage route remains blocked.
Revett communications director Monique Hayes says they hope to have the mine open by the first week of April, but it depends on the condition of the haulage route.
The copper and silver mine in Lincoln County employs more than 200 people.
