Tamarack Grief Resource Center prepares for auction
FLATHEAD COUNTY
Organizers with the Tamarack Grief Resource Center are preparing for their annual fundraiser at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. The event will be held January 31 at 6:00 pm. Several paddles will be auctioned off at the event, and those paddles are currently on display at Wheeler Jewelry in Kalispell and at the Lodge. The paddles are hand-painted by Flathead artists, who donated the paddles to the organization.
The Tamarack Grief Resource Center is a nonprofit that helps kids and adults grieving the loss of a loved one. The annual fundraiser in Whitefish helps fund the group’s programs, including a camp on Flathead Lake in June for kids who have lost a parent.
“We are so fortunate to be able to have this camp for kids that don’t get to be children. They have lost a parent and usually they’re coming from a financially disputed situation, [an] emotionally disputed situation. At camp, they get to be kids again,” said Lisa Poler, owner of Wheeler Jewelry.
