Suspect in Wyoming abduction attempt waives extradition
The suspect in a Cody Wyoming abduction waived extradition at a hearing in Gallatin County District Court.
According to the judge, that means the 39-year-old Jesse Paul Speer admits he's the man wanted in the warrant. Speer is now being held on no bond pending transfer to Wyoming.
Legal documents filed with the Gallatin County District Court confirms Speer is being held in connection to an October 8 kidnapping in Wyoming.
Speer is currently in custody in the Gallatin County Detention Center.
A warrant filed in Park County, Wyoming, details three counts and includes kidnapping, threatening the use of a deadly weapon and the use of a firearm while committing a felony.
Documents from the Gallatin County Attorney's office say Speer was arrested on October 13
An 11-year-old Cody, Wyo., girl reported being abducted and sexually assaulted on October 8. Hunters found the girl on in a rural area and contacted authorities.
Cody's police chief says video surveillance was used to help identify the suspec'ts vehicle and law enforcement at Yellowstone National Park helped ID the license plate.
